MEDIA PROJECTS
My final college class of 25 people was designed to be a mock advertising agency, tasked with developing an exciting campaign to launch H-E-B's new Field & Future product line. I worked on a media team where I focused on digital placement for the campaign. I used Mintel and Statista to conduct research on the best way to target our market via digital media. I budgeted our media spending utilizing programs such as SQAD and SRDS. After devoting a semester to work on our campaign, the team pitched the final campaigns to representatives from each company.
I participated in the Ad Dash Competition hosted by Bumble. After a recruiting process, participants were broken up into teams and sent to different local Austin ad agencies, tasked with ideating a campaign for Bumble that targets an emerging audience segment for their products. My team was given 6 hours to conduct research, draft ideas, and devise a pitch to give in front of marketing representatives from Bumble. My team was chosen as the winning deck for the competition, with a campaign that included guerrilla marketing, social media advertising, local partnerships, and OOH.
In a Media Planning class I took during college, I worked with a team that was tasked with designing a media campaign for Round Rock Honey, to target a new market segment in Asheville, NC. After conducting thorough research, the team defined the target market, budgeted media spend, and strategized media placement across different channels. We developed a campaign that included OOH, digital display, SEM, magazine, radio, TV, newspaper, and event marketing. I gained real-world experience utilizing programs such as SQAD, SRDS, Mintel, and Statista for media pricing and market research data. This experience taught me how to build a media campaign from start to finish, as well as how to work on a team in a remote learning environment.
